Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is seeking a Planning Manager to join their Retail Planning Team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Buying Managers to achieve divisional growth targets and managing sales, margin, and stock budgets. The role involves managing the merchandise cycle, creating in-stock systems, and conducting business analysis to improve profitability. The Planning Manager will also lead a team of planners.

Responsibilities include:

  • Driving divisional growth and market share.
  • Managing annual sales, margin, and stock budgets.
  • Overseeing the merchandise cycle and promotion planning.
  • Developing sustainable in-stock systems.
  • Supporting seasonal range plans.
  • Leading complex business analysis.
  • Leading a team of planners.

Requirements:

  • Strong numerical and analytical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of managing and executing projects.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Retail planning.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Retail Merchandise Manager role.
  • Advanced computer literacy experience in Excel and Planning systems.
  • Proven experience leading a team.
  • Experience working with large and complex data sets.
