Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is seeking a Data Analyst to join their Cape Town team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and optimizing models and reports to inform operational decisions and drive improvements. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, ensuring data integrity, and contributing to continuous performance improvement processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Building and optimising models and reports using support tools.
  • Creating reports with focus areas for business improvement.
  • Building dashboards for business use in exception management.
  • Identifying important variables and business focus areas.
  • Analysing data to answer strategic and operational questions.
  • Automating data extraction and report update processes.
  • Data validation and integrity testing.
  • Data Cleansing and data modelling.
  • Collaborate with managers to establish project plans.
  • Provide support according to weekly goals and targeted metrics.
  • Review and analyse key metrics to identify root causes and solutions.
  • Managing customer, branch, driver, and courier feedback into continuous performance improvement processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, BCom Computer Science or similar degree & 3+ years experience in a Data, Engineering role OR Relevant Higher Certificate & 6 Years relevant experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Google BigQuery, AWS, Google Data Studio, and Python.
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office packages with proven advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets, Docs & Slides.
  • Experience with large datasets and optimisation on digital platforms.
  • Solutions-oriented, can-do attitude and high energy.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to identify areas of improvement in current processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, outcome and process focused.
  • Willingness to learn and personal desire to keep up to date with technology and process.
  • Comfortable with change and excellent team player.
