Job Description

Sotheby's is seeking a Van Driver to provide exceptional delivery service of wine and spirits to clients in New York. This is a temporary to permanent role, with a one-month trial period to assess driving, delivery, and customer service skills.

The Van Driver will be responsible for safely operating a company van to transport wine and spirits between warehouse, retail store, and client residences. The driver will load and unload packages, consolidate orders, follow designated routes, and maintain vehicle upkeep and safety, while adhering to all traffic and liquor transportation regulations and ensuring timely deliveries. Responsibilities include delivery of adult signature and proof of delivery (POD) photo on the delivery software app, Provide regular feedback to Operations Team in terms of route changes, delivery issues, delays, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Always deliver exceptional client service.
  • Make an average of 15 deliveries a day.
  • Ensure property is secured properly and physical security of van at all times.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work with pallet jacks and hand trucks.
  • Flexible work hours; be on call for deliveries on Saturdays or to deliver in the evenings.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver license
  • Commercial driving experience utilizing small trucks and/or vans preferred
  • 1-3 years of related driving work experience preferred
  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner at all times
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, proactive problem solver, attentive to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to interact with a broad variety of clients, internal and external

What Sotheby's Offers:

  • The expected hourly rate for this position ranges from $20/hour - $25/hour.
  • Employees in this role may be expected to work overtime, and will receive additional pay at the applicable overtime rate.
  • Successful candidates will be eligible for benefits as required by law.
