Senior Platform Engineer at SilverRail

SilverRail is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join its global team and contribute to the design, construction, and operation of its cloud-native SaaS platform. This role offers the chance to use industry-leading tools and practices, embedding SRE, security, and automation principles into SilverRail's services. The Senior Platform Engineer will help shape the future of travel by enhancing the online customer experience for rail travel.

The role involves designing, implementing, and managing cloud platforms and infrastructure while building the next-generation SaaS platform serving travellers globally.

Role Involves:

• Contributing to building and enhancing SilverRail’s infrastructure and platform as a service.
• Supporting internal and external customers and building on key cloud technologies.
• Managing service reliability functions.
• Developing, maintaining, and utilizing SilverRail’s deployment automation systems.
• Designing, building, and managing SilverRail’s cloud environments.
• Owning the deployment process.
• Working with cross-functional teams to optimize processes.
• On-call responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Hands on experience in operations engineer, DevOps, SRE, sysadmin role or academic knowledge
• 3-5 years of industry experience in an Infrastructure function, including exposure to Public Cloud services
• Knowledge of Linux based operating systems
• Experience in programming practices and Software Development Life Cycle models
• Experience in a common programming language or scripting language (python, ruby, bash, etc)
• Experience with Infrastructure as code concepts and languages, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM etc
• Experience with Container technologies and platforms such as Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE/Rancher/Openshift/Anthos) would be beneficial
• Knowledge of Git and Git based workflows such as GitOps
• Advocate of software best practices and Agile SDLC.
• Software development experience is highly valued.
