Financial Controller at Schonfeld

Schonfeld is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its newly established accounting team in APAC. The individual will be responsible for the team and all internal and external financial deliverables associated with foreign management companies in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Australia.

The role involves:

• Oversight and management of annual financial statements and audit processes.
• Collaboration with tax and compliance colleagues for tax filings and regulatory submissions.
• Responsibility for the close process for monthly management accounts.
• Determining operational funding requirements and oversight of cash management.
• Financial forecasting and capital adequacy calculations.
• Focus on process improvements and control environment evolution.
• Management and execution of ad-hoc finance projects.
• Development of the accounting team.

Requirements:

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CA, CPA or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Experience with local regulatory requirements and reporting across jurisdictions in APAC.
• Good working knowledge of local tax reporting regimes and tax compliance filings.
• Strong IT skills, including competency in Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• High levels of self-organisation and a proactive approach to problem solving.
