Cisco ThousandEyes is seeking a motivated junior Software Engineer to join their Network Visibility NBAR team in Netanya, Israel. In this hybrid role, the engineer will be responsible for researching and analyzing application traffic patterns, developing analytics tools to process large-scale network traffic data, and designing efficient algorithms for traffic classification. The Software Engineer will contribute to critical Cisco solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve network visibility, assurance, and security features.

What This Role Involves

  • Researching and analyzing application traffic patterns, SaaS services behavior, and internet infrastructure.
  • Developing and enhancing analytics tools to process and classify large-scale network traffic data.
  • Working with massive datasets sourced from network devices globally to detect and classify application traffic and profile endpoints.
  • Designing and implementing efficient algorithms for traffic classification and data-driven network visibility.
  • Contributing to critical Cisco solutions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Strong data analysis skills.
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) design principles.
  • Algorithmic skills for designing efficient algorithms.
  • BSc or MSc in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
