Oportun is seeking a Senior Accountant to handle the day-to-day accounting processes related to personal loan products. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for recording and reconciling transactions, investigating and resolving issues and preparing schedules. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to loans.
  • Prepare loan schedules for internal and external reporting.
  • Conduct month-over-month flux analysis.
  • Prepare loan related schedules for audit and SOX.
  • Support process improvements through automation.
  • Assist with ad hoc accounting/finance projects.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of two years of general accounting experience.
  • Four-year bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Extreme attention to details.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple functions and work with limited supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to adapt to change.
  • Time & schedule flexibility.
