PitchBook is seeking a Sr. Director of Engineering, AI & ML to lead its global AI and machine learning initiatives. This role involves guiding distributed teams across multiple regions to build robust, scalable AI/ML solutions that power PitchBook's products and critical business functions.
Role Involves:
  • Shaping the strategic vision and roadmap for AI and ML initiatives.
  • Providing technical leadership in AI/ML engineering, especially in NLP and semantic search.
  • Leading and mentoring a globally distributed team of AI/ML engineers and data scientists.
  • Overseeing the design and integration of complex AI/ML systems.
  • Collaborating with MLOps, Platform Engineering, and the Enterprise Data Platform teams.
  • Driving innovation in AI/ML practices.
  • Ensuring the integrity, performance, and security of AI/ML systems globally.
  • Playing a key role in talent acquisition and retention.
  • Fostering a culture of belonging and open communication.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on AI/ML.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, managing global teams.
  • Deep expertise in machine learning, NLP, and semantic search.
  • Proven experience with MLOps, data platforms (e.g., Snowflake), and data pipelines (e.g., Airflow).
  • Strong background in data architecture and distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, SQL, and other relevant tools.
  • Experience in cloud-native delivery using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
