Sojern is seeking a talented Senior Applied Scientist to enhance the performance of its targeting and optimization products. The Applied Science team develops services and pipelines to optimize advertising campaign performance, applying machine learning at scale for numerous customers.

The role involves:

  • Designing and maintaining machine learning models to optimize campaign targeting.
  • Modeling advertising metrics like conversion and click-through rates.
  • Improving systems for campaign performance and pacing.
  • Implementing machine learning pipelines on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Writing and shipping production-level Python code.
  • Crafting complex SQL queries to extract and transform data.
  • Collaborating with scientists, engineers, and product managers.
  • Documenting code and participating in the Agile lifecycle.

Sojern requires candidates to have:

  • Hands-on experience building production-level ML and data products.
  • Expert-level understanding of data science topics.
  • At least two years of experience as an applied/data scientist/ML engineer.
  • An MS or PhD in computer science or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Python coding experience and knowledge of algorithmic efficiency.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms.
  • Ability to design and apply machine learning models to solve business problems.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze model results and improve performance.
  • Ability to perform complex data analysis and propose solutions.
