Backend Tech Lead | Talent Pool

Job Description

Wellhub, formerly Gympass, is seeking a Backend Tech Lead to join its Technology and Product team in Brazil. This is a talent pool application, opening the door to potential future career opportunities with Wellhub. The Tech Lead will oversee a team of software engineers, ensuring the pace and quality of technical deliveries. They will be a technical reference for their team, coding key features, performing pull request reviews, and participating in architectural decisions. The Tech Lead will also collaborate with the Product Manager to evaluate task feasibility, assign user stories, and prioritize engineering issues. They will ensure agile ceremonies run effectively and address process bottlenecks. Furthermore, the Tech Lead will mentor team members, facilitate their growth, assess performance, and create career development plans.Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development of critical services, building sustainable solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve services focusing on performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Develop parts of the system, often in pair programming (expected around 50%).
• Account for systems reliability, scalability, SLA, and SLO.
• Manage technical debts and engineering backlog.
• Support existing systems to enhance functionality and increase scale.
• Take part in incident resolution and troubleshooting in production.
• Maintain the project technical vision.
• Work with cutting-edge technologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
• Experience managing and mentoring software engineering teams.
• Experience architecting large-scale web applications.
• Experience designing and developing modern web applications.
• Experience with Cloud-based architectures (AWS / GCP).
• Experience developing RESTful web services.
• Experience applying computer science fundamentals.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message brokers.
• Knowledge of DDD, SOLID, Design Patterns, distributed systems, and microservice architecture.
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL technologies.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java/Ruby/Go/C++/etc.). Golang is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to articulate ideas clearly in English.
