Backend Team Lead at Statement

Statement.io is seeking a Backend Team Lead to guide a team of backend engineers in developing and maintaining the connectivity infrastructure that integrates the platform with customer financial systems. The ideal candidate will ensure the performance, resilience, and scalability of the backend systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of backend developers.
• Take full ownership of developing and maintaining our connectivity backend solution.
• Design and implement robust, high-performance services that integrate with financial systems.
• Drive technical decisions and ensure best practices in software architecture and backend infrastructure.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and scalability challenges.
• Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and improve development workflows.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and data analysts.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and apply new technologies to enhance our platform.

Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of backend development and software architecture.
• Strong proficiency in C, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of databases and experience working with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, mainly AWS.
• Deep understanding of software design principles, design patterns, and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Adaptability and a proactive attitude.
