Blockchain.com, the leading software platform for digital assets, is seeking a Data Protection Officer to join their fast-growing team in Paris. The DPO will play a crucial role in building a globally sustainable, compliance-focused culture, championing the privacy rights of users. They will report to the Chief Compliance Officer and collaborate with Security, Legal, and Compliance teams.
Responsibilities:
- Act as point of contact with global supervisory authorities, data subjects, internal teams, and external parties.
- Lead investigations into data breaches and provide recommendations.
- Review and negotiate data processing agreements.
- Ensure DPIA’s are conducted.
- Manage and respond to data subject requests.
- Maintain an up to date ROPA.
- Monitor data management procedures and compliance.
- Collaborate with internal teams for privacy by design.
- Review and update data protection policies.
- Perform audits and recommend procedure alterations.
- Ensure employee training is fit for purpose and deliver ad-hoc training.
- Keep abreast of changes in law and issue recommendations.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in data protection and legal compliance.
- Expert knowledge of GDPR/UK GDPR and solid knowledge of other national data protection laws.
- Working knowledge of GLBA, CCPA, LGPD and PDPA requirements.
- Excellent people skills and the ability to highlight the value of data protection.
- A robust but collaborative and pragmatic approach to data protection compliance.
- Knowledge of data processing operations in the Company's sector is preferable.
- Basic familiarity with information and cyber security.
- Ability to work with and influence teams and stakeholders.
- Ethical, with the ability to remain impartial.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail.
