Job Description
Blockchain.com is seeking a Deputy BSA & Sanctions Officer for the Americas, based in Dallas. This role supports the BSA/AML program for Blockchain’s US operations and involves close collaboration with the compliance team and other functions. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, adaptable, and collaborative, with experience in a fast-paced environment.

The role involves:
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of a comprehensive BSA/AML and OFAC compliance program.
  • Managing the BSA program, ensuring monitoring, investigation, and reporting functions are performed.
  • Assisting with risk assessments and updating policies and procedures.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of controls and proposing enhancements.
  • Ensuring timely review of high-risk customers and maintaining accurate records.
  • Completing and filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Voluntary Self Disclosures (VSDs).
  • Contributing to reporting on key risk and performance indicators.
  • Partnering with Product Owners, Legal, and Compliance teams to drive compliance.
  • Preparing for and responding to regulatory requests and examinations.
  • Managing special projects as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial crimes compliance at a regulated financial institution.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidance governing client due diligence (e.g., USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN / OFAC rules).
  • Experience working with high-risk client groups and improving onboarding processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional experience with cryptocurrencies is advantageous.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACAMS, ICA) preferred.
  • Must be located in Dallas and work a hybrid schedule (4 days in office).
