FIU Associate, Transaction Monitoring at Blockchain.com

Blockchain.com, a leading software platform for digital assets, is seeking a FIU Associate, specializing in Transaction Monitoring, to join their Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). The candidate will work with a global team to investigate suspicious activity and mitigate financial crime risks.

The FIU Associate will be responsible for:

• Investigating AML alerts
• Conducting complex investigations involving on-chain financial crime
• Providing feedback to improve transaction monitoring rules and systems
• Analyzing blockchain data to uncover patterns, trends, and potential risks
• Developing, refining, and deploying scripts to handle large datasets
• Reviewing transactions and publicly available sources to determine whether activities are aligned with the firm’s acceptable use policies or regulations.
• Documenting and reporting investigation findings
• Reviewing and requesting SoF and SoW information to support investigations and decision-making processes.
• Handling low to high complexity escalations from internal teams
• Monitoring trends and patterns to help compliance teams improve transaction monitoring capabilities and detection effectiveness.
• Collaborating with internal teams to refine AML detection strategies

Requirements:

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in AML, compliance, or a related field
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Basic MS Excel / Google spreadsheet, MS Word skills are mandatory
• Experience triaging transaction monitoring alerts or carrying out Enhanced Due Diligence preferred
• Professional experience within a fintech or crypto company is advantageous but not required
