iCapital is seeking a Fund Accountant - Assistant Vice President to join its growing International Fund Finance team. This role focuses on accounting for a fast-growing sector, including FX hedging operations. He/she will serve as the APAC region accounting and operational specialist and work closely with other members of the Fund Finance team in the US and Portugal in servicing the funds. This position is responsible for servicing open-ended as well as closed-ended access fund vehicles in conjunction with third-party administrators, and internal support staff in the US and Portugal
Responsibilities: - Serve as the APAC region accounting and operational specialist for existing and new clients.
- Follow internal processes for proper oversight and control.
- Foster and maintain good relationships with underlying fund managers, fund administrators, and distributors.
- Partner closely with the APAC fund finance team to contribute to enhancement and automation of the key processes.
- Work closely with other members of the Fund Finance team in the US and Portugal in servicing the funds.
- Day to day point of contact for fund administrators and other service providers, such as auditors, tax service providers, and custodians.
- Monitor cash positions and liquidity of investments, reconciliations, and manage cash reserves including buffer for the FX hedging programme
- Liaise with funds’ custodian and funds’ bank, as well as other counterparties as needed.
- Fulfill ad-hoc tasks as required by the team and different parts of the organization.
Requirements: - Fluent in Japanese and English
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another business-related field
- 8+ years of fund accounting, fund administration, or finance operations experience (open-ended as well as closed-ended experience preferred)
- Advanced accounting skills and experience within an audit framework preferred
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills
- Must love numbers!

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to see the big picture
- Proven ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced, demanding environment
