Manager, Business & Legal Affairs at Sony Music Careers - Asia & Middle East

Sony Music Entertainment is seeking a Manager of Business & Legal Affairs. This role is based in Seoul, Korea. The Manager will be responsible for reviewing all contracts related to business operations, including artist contracts, license deals, distribution deals, live events, and service agreements. The role also involves advising on intellectual property rights and ensuring compliance with contractual and legal obligations in Korea.

What this role involves:

• Providing strategic legal and commercial advice for various transactions.
• Managing risk and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
• Advising on pre-publication content, including marketing materials and music videos.
• Handling dispute resolution and enforcing intellectual property rights.
• Maintaining and updating precedents, policies, and procedures.
• Supervising litigations and managing external counsel.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in law with 5+ years PQE in a law firm or in-house legal role in Korea.
• Knowledge and experience in music business, copyright, and intellectual property.
• Qualified lawyer in Korea/US.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills in Korean and English.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Good legal research skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Passion for the music entertainment business.
• Ability to work harmoniously with the teams from various culture background
