Senior Backend Engineer (Rendering)

Job Description

Smartly is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Render team in Helsinki. This role is central to Smartly's product offering, impacting the company's future ambitions. The engineer will focus on transforming creative production tooling, used by customers to generate millions of advertising creatives.Role involves:

• End-to-end ownership of platform slices
• Documenting services and communicating offerings
• Defining, designing, and owning API contracts
• Contributing to the Creative Engineering Group's ambitions
• Collaborating with stakeholders (UX, product, infrastructure, support)
• Working closely with customers

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in building web applications
• Experience in backend development (Node.js, Typescript, PostgreSQL preferred)
• DevOps experience with Kubernetes and messaging queues (asset)
• Ambition and eagerness to excel
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to work with stakeholders
• Motivation for solving customer problems
• Ability to work in a hybrid capacity from the Helsinki office 3 days a week
