Cloud Architecture - Assistant Vice President at iCapital

iCapital is seeking a Cloud Architecture Assistant Vice President to join its Platform Infrastructure Group in Lisboa, Portugal. The role involves maintaining the smooth and secure operation of all platform environments. The ideal candidate will think like an owner, drive projects forward, provide technical advice, and proactively automate and scale the environment. The AVP/VP will interact with various external stakeholders within the business.

Responsibilities:

• Act as an infrastructure architect with experience in building secure, automated, and scalable AWS infrastructure.
• Apply a strong understanding of DevOps principles and cloud networking to promote and implement AWS best practices and security.
• Build, enhance, and support EKS clusters, API gateways, Transit Gateways, and other edge and compute services.
• Troubleshoot performance and deployment issues and improve monitoring strategies.
• Write and update self-service tools used internally by developers.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of DevOps or SRE experience with at least 4 years of AWS experience.
• Microservices (Docker, Kubernetes) experience in a production environment is essential.
• Strong Linux OS-level and command-line/scripting knowledge and configuration management principles.
• Proficiency in Python or Ruby is desired.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to design and implement complex, but easily-managed, automated infrastructure.
• A desire to share, teach, and learn as part of a team.
