Software Engineer II

Job Description

OpenTable is seeking a Software Engineer II to join their team in India. The Software Engineer II will be responsible for developing the platform for OpenTable’s restaurant applications, helping restaurants make the most of OpenTable’s offerings. OpenTable believes in clean code, proven engineering principles, and rapid, continuous development. They move fast, release frequently, and believe strongly in automated testing.

The Software Engineer II will work with product managers to help in scoping features, contributing towards technical architecture, and having primary responsibility for actual implementation of code and automated tests. Responsibilities:

• Developing the platform for OpenTable’s restaurant applications
• Working with product managers to help in scoping features
• Contributing towards technical architecture
• Implementing code and automated tests

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in backend software engineering building distributed applications
• Expertise in Java, Spring framework and Spring Boot, and Hibernate
• Experience working with large-scale, distributed, service-oriented and event-driven architectures and systems
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with Docker / Kubernetes and message buses like Kafka; proficiency with Git
• Discipline at unit, integration, and acceptance testing
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Experience working in an agile-based methodology
