Loka is offering a Bioinformatics Internship for a motivated final-year bachelor’s student. The intern will support Loka’s specialists in Data Engineering and Machine Learning projects within Bioinformatics and Life Sciences. This is a full-time (40 hrs/week), paid, six-month opportunity to gain professional experience and contribute to impactful projects, sharpening skills in computational biology.

The Role Involves:

  • Collaborating with Loka’s engineers to develop bioinformatics workflows.
  • Assisting in training machine learning models by preparing and processing data.
  • Exploring and visualizing biological data, identifying data quality issues.
  • Investigating model errors and helping refine ML workflows.

Requirements:

  • Final-year bachelor’s student in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biology, or a related field.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Basic knowledge of Python, machine learning, and data analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn).
  • Problem solving.
  • Experience visualizing and manipulating big datasets.
