Job Description
Schrödinger is seeking an In Vitro Biochemist/Biophysicist to contribute to the development of advanced computational methods aimed at improving human health. As part of Schrödinger's in vitro biology team, the candidate will collaborate with scientists experienced in various target classes and therapeutic areas. The team is supported by software developers, engineers, and a large-scale compute infrastructure.
The In Vitro Biochemist/Biophysicist will contribute to drug discovery projects. The role involves:
- Ideating, designing, and executing biochemical, biophysical and cell biology experiments
- Transferring optimized in vitro assays to CRO partners
- Providing in vitro biology input to multiple program teams
- Managing CRO relationships to support experiments
- Reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting in vitro data.
- Updating the in vitro biology and program teams on active programs regularly.
The ideal candidate should have:
- A PhD in enzymology, biochemistry or a related field with 0-2 years relevant hands-on experience, or MS with at least five years of relevant experience
- Expertise in establishing and troubleshooting in vitro biochemical/biophysical assays
- Hands-on experience in running binding and functional assays for compound screening and MOA studies
- Experience in Hit ID for drug targets in the undrugged space
- Working knowledge of data analysis and statistical softwares e.g. GraphPad Prism, KinTech explorer
