The African Leadership University (ALU) is seeking an Events Manager to conceptualize, plan, execute, and evaluate ALU’s key events. This role demands a strategic individual capable of handling high-level planning while managing logistical details for seamless event delivery. The Events Manager will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to uphold ALU’s brand, manage stakeholder expectations, and maintain financial discipline.

Role Involves:

  • Developing and executing event strategies aligned with ALU’s goals.
  • Designing innovative and engaging event experiences.
  • Overseeing all aspects of event planning, including venue selection, catering and decor.
  • Managing event logistics such as transportation.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to align on objectives.
  • Handling budget planning, invoicing, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinating with ALU’s marketing team for event promotion.
  • Overseeing technical aspects of events.
  • Leading and mentoring the Events team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6-8 years' experience in event management or related field.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale, high-profile events.
  • Strong background in budget management and cost optimization.
  • Experience working with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Event strategy development and execution skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and resilience in high-pressure environments.
