Intercom is seeking a Senior Data Foundations Engineer to join their team in Dublin. Intercom aims to improve customer experiences with their platform, used by over 25,000 businesses. The Data Foundations team manages APIs and services for customer data, integrations, user identity, and data segmentation.

This role involves:
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining APIs for user, company, and conversation data.
  • Building and improving integrations with Salesforce, Stripe, Jira, and GitHub.
  • Enhancing developer-facing documentation.
  • Implementing systems to monitor and detect bottlenecks and data quality issues.
  • Collaborating with Product, Design, and Customer Support teams.

The ideal candidate should have:
  • Several years of professional experience with a modern programming language.
  • Experience with queueing systems.
  • Experience creating and consuming APIs and API documentation.
  • Cloud provider experience (preferably AWS).
  • Awareness of data security and privacy.
  • A track record of impactful work.
  • Backend development experience with Ruby on Rails or similar.
  • Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, and data integration best practices.
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
