Principal Field Applications Engineer at Astera Labs

Astera Labs is seeking a Principal Field Applications Engineer. In this role, the individual will collaborate with leading cloud service providers and server OEMs to create solutions leveraging Astera Labs' connectivity products. The individual will be the point of contact for the customer, listening to their requirements and working with internal teams to implement the product roadmap.Role responsibilities include:

• Identifying and understanding customer requirements.
• Proposing Astera Labs solutions to meet customer needs.
• Providing hands-on design-in support.
• Driving innovation by communicating customer feedback to engineering teams.

Required qualifications include:

• BS in electrical engineering (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of experience working with cloud service providers and server OEM customers.
• Experience designing complex SoCs/silicon products for server, storage, and/or networking applications.
• Hands-on knowledge of high-speed protocols like PCIe & Ethernet.
• Silicon/System bring-up and debug experience in customer systems.
• Experience with lab equipment including protocol analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Background in high-speed board design techniques.
• Understanding of Data Center systems.
• Proficiency in Python for automating system validation and link optimization.
• Experience debugging embedded firmware.
