Temporary Property Handler

Job Description

Sotheby's is seeking a Temporary Property Handler to support various Specialist departments. This role involves handling a wide range of artwork, furniture, and other valuable objects. The Property Handler will collaborate closely with Specialist Departments, Registrars, and Operations staff to ensure the safe and efficient movement of property throughout the building.

• Working closely with Specialist Departments, Registrars, and Operations.
• Receive, open, tag and scan property as directed
• Move property to and from loading docks, departmental storage exhibition locations
• Transport property to and from loading dock, department storage, and exhibition locations
• Preparing exhibition space.
• Placing property for display.
• Maintaining cleanliness and appropriate presentation.

Requirements:

• Substantial lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying of property required.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required
• Prior fine art handling experience a plus

The role offers:

• Hourly rate of $24.50 per hour.
• Overtime pay at the applicable rate.
• Premiums for seniority or project lead roles.
