Algolia is seeking a Software Engineer to join the AI Search Group, focusing on enhancing core search capabilities. The company provides a search API used by numerous customers globally, answering billions of search queries monthly. The AI Search Group is dedicated to improving pre-query relevance (Understanding) and post-query relevance (Re-Ranking), and is responsible for key customer-facing features. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver with an entrepreneurial mindset, focusing on outcomes and using data to drive decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Be a key contributor to the design and development of ranking & understanding features
- Collaborate with a diverse team including front-end developers and machine learning specialists
- Be responsible for the quality and soundness of our pipelines
Requirements:
- Experience designing and operating pipelines in production
- Experience working with large datasets and high traffic
- An interest in solving Ranking challenges
- Experience in building and maintaining API services
- Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices
- Experience using one of the major cloud providers (GCP, AWS or Azure)
- Excellent spoken and written English skills
