Algolia is seeking a Software Engineer to join its AI Search Group, based in London. In this role, the individual will contribute to enhancing core search capabilities by improving pre-query relevance (Understanding) and post-query relevance (Re-Ranking). The AI Search Group is responsible for key customer-facing features like Query Suggestions, Dynamic Synonym Suggestions, AI Re-Ranking, and Query Categorization.

The ideal candidate will be a problem solver with an entrepreneurial mindset, focusing on outcomes and using data to drive decisions. They will collaborate within a diverse team of engineers, including front-end developers and machine learning specialists. They will also be responsible for ensuring the quality and robustness of Algolia's pipelines.

Role Involves:

  • Designing and developing ranking & understanding features
  • Collaborating with a diverse team, including front-end developers and machine learning specialists
  • Ensuring the quality and soundness of pipelines

Requirements:

  • Experience designing and operating pipelines in production
  • Experience working with large datasets and high traffic
  • Interest in solving Ranking challenges
  • Experience in building and maintaining API services
  • Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices
  • Experience using one of the major cloud providers (GCP, AWS or Azure)
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
