Design Systems Lead at RightShip

RightShip is seeking a Design Systems Lead to play a central role in shaping the user experience across its platform. This individual will be responsible for creating simple, flexible, and configurable components, enabling UX designers to concentrate on crafting user journeys and solutions. The Design System Lead will report to the Head of Design and collaborate with a multicultural, multi-disciplined team within a fast-paced, agile environment. They will partner closely with designers, front-end engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the products are user-friendly, easily scalable, and efficient to produce.

Responsibilities:

• Build an experience vision that aligns with business goals and lowers productivity efforts
• Audit the existing system in Figma to identify short-, medium- and long-term changes
• Develop a strategy that makes screens responsive, scalable and simple to be iterated upon
• Create an implementation roadmap
• Craft effective components that are easy to understand, to consume and to configure for UX designers
• Govern the use and implementation of the system in both design and development and iterate upon it according to the respective needs
• Maintain and iterate upon our icon library, data viz assets, font and color scales
• Participate in usability testing to understand potential issues and opportunities with regards to the UI and patterns

Requirements:

• Proven experience in creating design systems in Figma for commercial use, ideally in large complex B2B environments
• Excellent UI design skills for creating simple and highly usable interaction patterns, with a propensity towards simplification
• Strong understanding of ways to structure components that makes designers more efficient
• Experience with B2B data-rich platforms
• Familiarity with user research and usability testing
• Experience working in Agile development processes
