Senior Site Reliability Engineer, IaaS at Algolia

Algolia is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their IaaS team in Paris. The ideal candidate will help uphold the reliability and scalability of Algolia's infrastructure, which powers 1.5 trillion searches a year for over 10,000 customers. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and fault-tolerant systems, enhancing infrastructure reliability, and streamlining operations.

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor peers, and lead technical projects to ensure Algolia’s infrastructure scales seamlessly and operates reliably.

Role Involves:

• Overseeing and enhancing Kubernetes-based architectures and cloud services.
• Improving infrastructure code and automation, managing a fleet of thousands of servers.
• Architecting and extending the control plane to empower teams.
• Collaborating with and mentoring team members.
• Defining and implementing engineering processes and best practices.
• Identifying and resolving systemic issues, implementing innovative solutions.

Requirements:

• Extensive programming expertise in languages such as Python, Ruby, or Golang.
• Proven experience managing and optimizing large-scale Kubernetes clusters and Linux server fleets.
• In-depth understanding of distributed systems.
• Advanced knowledge of public cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Demonstrated ability to tackle complex technical challenges independently.
• Strong ability to mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
