Job Description

Niantic is seeking a Senior UX Designer to join the Pokémon GO team. The Senior UX Designer will be responsible for designing intuitive and engaging game UX for a broad player base. This role involves working in a collaborative environment, partnering with game design, art, product, and engineering teams.

The Senior UX Designer will champion the best interests of players through data-informed research and creative solutions. They develop simple, scalable designs and are comfortable dealing with ambiguity and shifting priorities.

Required in-office min 2 days, on Wednesday and Thursday.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead UX design efforts from concept to implementation for key projects.
  • Develop mockups, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed design documentation.
  • Communicate UX designs to internal and external partners.
  • Lead team rituals to brainstorm new features.
  • Improve and extend existing UI design system patterns and brand guidelines.
  • Partner with user research to incorporate player insights.
  • Proactively contribute to UX team rituals and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of UX design experience for consumer-facing products.
  • Portfolio of shipped features/titles and personal projects.
  • Experience with wireframing and prototyping in Figma.
  • Familiarity with mobile UX design patterns in gaming.
  • Strong visual design, motion design, and UI art skills.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to develop UX patterns.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams with effective communication skills.
