Staff Engineer

Flagstone is seeking a passionate and experienced Staff Engineer to drive technical excellence and innovation within its engineering teams. The Staff Engineer will play a leading role in shaping technical strategy, mentoring other engineers, and delivering high-quality, scalable solutions to revolutionize the savings market. This role requires a blend of technical leadership, hands-on contributions, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The Staff Engineer will contribute directly to building and maintaining high-quality systems with a forward-looking approach. He will champion the "you build it, you run it" philosophy and ensure robust monitoring, alerting, and operational readiness. They will maintain high-quality standards through code reviews and adherence to best practices.

Role Involves:

• Setting technical vision and aligning with business objectives.
• Contributing to building and maintaining high-quality systems.
• Coaching and mentoring engineers, promoting best practices.
• Ensuring scalable, reliable, and efficient system design.
• Championing operational excellence.
• Maintaining high-quality standards and compliance.
• Collaborating with Product Managers and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a staff engineering role.
• Strong system architecture and design skills.
• Thorough understanding of SOLID principles, TDD, DDD, and software design patterns.
• Proficiency in frontend (ReactJS) and mobile (React Native) engineering.
• Experience with Azure development and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Understanding of security best practices (OWASP, etc.).
• Excellent coaching, mentoring, and leadership skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking.
• Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Agile and Scrum practices experience.
