Controller, Institutional Lead

Blockchain.com is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the financial reporting and accounting functions for its Institutional entities. Based in London, the Controller will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls for the Institutional product line entities of the group.

The ideal candidate will come from a financial services background and have a keen interest in crypto. The role requires experience in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of work. The Controller will play a key part in building a scalable accounting and finance function.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading financial reporting and accounting functions for Institutional entities
• Ensuring timely and accurate regulatory filings and tax compliance
• Managing year-end audit work
• Reviewing reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Managing, mentoring, and developing senior accountants
• Collaborating across departments to ensure compliance
• Responding to ad hoc requests

Requirements include:

• Integrity
• Financial Services experience is a must
• Public accounting/Audit experience is strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• CPA or other recognized Accounting qualification required
• 5-10 years experience in accounting/finance functions
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (NetSuite, FloQast)
• Interest in the crypto industry and awareness of global regulations
• Experience with international accounting is a plus
• Capacity to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment
