Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Gen AI at Mozilla

Mozilla is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join their Firefox team. This role involves developing and growing new Generative AI driven products and tools, contributing significantly to safe and healthy machine learning experiences in Firefox. The Staff Engineer will lead projects tackling complex tasks requiring planning and influencing other engineers, feedback on team strategy, and mentoring junior engineers.

What this role involves:

• Leading the design, development, and integration of Generative AI solutions in Firefox.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with product management, full stack engineering, and design teams.
• Building infrastructure for training and inference of LLMs and small language and vision models.
• Implementing robust validation and testing procedures.
• Monitoring and optimizing deployed models for performance and efficiency.

Requirements:

• 6+ years experience as a Machine Learning Engineer.
• Experience with designing and building machine learning tooling and infrastructure.
• Experience with distributed systems and platforms for AI integrations.
• Leading architecture designs to execution, independently.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience working collaboratively with product managers.
