Job Description
ClickHouse is seeking a Senior Cloud Software Engineer to design, develop, and secure its ClickHouse Cloud database platform for airgapped environments. The engineer will architect secure, high-performance, and scalable solutions tailored for classified and highly regulated systems. They will collaborate with Security, Dataplane, ClickHouse Core, and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance with security frameworks while enabling elastic, limitless scale, high-performance, server-less ClickHouse Cloud capabilities in isolated environments.

What this role involves:
  • Designing and developing a highly available, scalable, and secure ClickHouse Cloud for airgapped systems.
  • Working closely with Dataplane and Core teams to ensure software parity with existing cloud infrastructure.
  • Designing and deploying ClickHouse Cloud on Kubernetes and containerized environments.
  • Developing and maintaining Helm Charts, operators, and Kubernetes manifests for database management.
  • Implementing repeatable automation to build, scale, and troubleshoot infrastructure components.
  • Optimizing ClickHouse Cloud database performance and storage architecture.
  • Integrating secure authentication, encryption, and access control mechanisms.
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database performance, security, and operational issues.
  • Automating deployments and lifecycle management using Terraform, Ansible, or CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements:
  • 6+ years of relevant software development industry experience.
  • Experience with ClickHouse or relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes tools (Helm, Kustomize, operators, Istio, serviceMesh).
  • Strong understanding of airgapped architectures and data isolation.
  • Experience with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) in government environments.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or on-prem equivalents).
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Python or Go) for automation and integration.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and production debugging skills.
  • Passion for efficiency, availability, scalability, and data governance.
