RightShip is seeking a Data Product Owner to lead the delivery and lifecycle of data products. The Data Product Owner will bridge the gap between business priorities and technical execution. As part of the Data Program Management team, they will collaborate with stakeholders to shape and execute the delivery of data products.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive the delivery of initiatives through governed data products.
  • Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Lead and contribute to data modeling efforts.
  • Partner with domain analysts and data engineers.
  • Evaluate existing data products.
  • Act as the key liaison between business units and data teams.
  • Communicate delivery status, risks, and blockers.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Champion a minimum viable product (MVP) mindset.
  • Provide hands-on coaching to data engineers.
  • Step into the role of a Scrum Master when required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in data product management.
  • Experience in data modeling.
  • Strong grounding in data modeling theory.
  • Understanding of product lifecycle management and Agile delivery.
  • Experience with cloud-based data environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with Scrum practices and tools.
