BVNK is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join their team and contribute to building seamless cross-border payments involving both crypto and fiat currencies. The engineer will be part of the Virtual Account Squad, which develops and maintains solutions that enable customers to hold, send, receive, and exchange funds on the BVNK platform. This role is crucial in overcoming challenges to ensure smooth trading processes, streamlining liquidity management, and automation.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with the product team, translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and advocate for simple, effective solutions. They will focus on delivering high-quality code and contributing to the engineering culture and standards. BVNK offers a hybrid/remote working policy and is looking for candidates in South Africa or the European region to foster collaboration with the existing team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product team to deliver results.
- Translate technical to non-technical concepts.
- Advocate for simple, effective approaches.
- Develop future-proof products with quality code.
- Contribute to engineering culture.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as an engineer.
- Proven ability to design, architect, debug, test, and document code.
- Production experience in asynchronous messaging with microservices.
- Understanding of design patterns and principles.
- Ability to translate challenges into actionable steps.
- Experience in taking a product from initiation through go-to-market.
- Experience in fiat payments, card payments, or banking infrastructure advantageous.
- Open to participate in out of hours on call rota
