Job Description
SonicWall, a cybersecurity company with over 30 years of experience, is seeking a Distinguished Hardware Engineer to design and develop security appliances. The candidate will be responsible for hardware architecture, part selection, low-level design, analysis, and simulation. They will also provide guidelines for PCB designs and interface with manufacturing to optimize product price/performance. The ideal candidate will lead by example and set high standards for the team.Role involves:
  • Hardware architecture design
  • Part research and selection
  • Low-level design, analysis, and simulation

  • Interfacing with manufacturing/operations
Requirements:
  • 15+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience designing products with Intel, AMD, ARM, and MIPS processors
  • Knowledge of high-speed PCB design process
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (Orcad, Hyperlynx, Hspice, Allegro, Timing Designer)
  • Analytical skills for device selection and prototyping
  • Proficiency in data analysis/presentation tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Knowledge of PCI, SPI, and I2C standards
  • Knowledge of 802.3 Ethernet standards and experience with high-speed interfaces
  • Knowledge of wireless 802.11 standards
  • Experience designing products with security features (TPMs, TRNG, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with SI data collection and timing analysis
  • Knowledge of In Circuit Test (ICT)
  • Working knowledge of Electromigration, ESD, Thermal Profiling, PCB fabrication and Assembly
  • Working knowledge of programming software such as C and PERL
