Perplexity AI is seeking a skilled JavaScript Engineer to contribute to the development of its browser app, Comet. The engineer will work within a small team to enhance the way users search and interact online. This role requires a candidate with strong programming skills, enthusiasm for search and large language models, and a dedication to creating excellent user experiences and user interfaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-performance desktop Browser app components using web technologies.
  • Collaborate with product teams to implement innovative desktop experiences.
  • Work with design teams to create fast and intuitive UIs.
  • Collaborate with data science and machine learning teams to instrument, analyze, and optimize the end-to-end experience.
  • Work with infrastructure and QA teams on deployment processes, including testing, release, and monitoring.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of industry experience
  • Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript Vanilla and top frameworks
  • Expertise in Git and js/ts building tools
  • Strong JS/TS fundamentals and experience with a modern Frontend stack
  • Ability to build nice UI, create good UX, and write reusable code
  • Understands how to manage performance and speed
  • Comfortable in a small, fast-moving team and willing to take ownership
  • A passion for shipping
