Job Description
Smartling, a cloud-based, AI-enabled translation platform, is seeking a Senior Linguistic Engineer to join their LanguageAI team. This role involves identifying, improving, and designing next-generation models for translation and quality assessment. The engineer will stay current on research, advise on system design, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Language Services departments.
Responsibilities:
- Create assets, models, and pipelines for machine learning models.
- Research linguistic characteristics of various locales and languages.
- Engineer prompts for Large Language Models to enhance translation tasks.
- Collaborate to build internal tooling for end-to-end processes.
- Advise other teams on AI/ML feature feasibility.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of linguistic engineering or related experience.
- Expert knowledge of general linguistics.
- Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methodologies, and Python.
- Knowledge of data science and NLP techniques.
