The Social Hub is seeking a Sous Chef to join their team in Florence, Italy. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic and innovative hotel concept that combines student accommodation with co-working spaces and short-stay options. The Social Hub is opening its second location in Florence, offering 549 rooms, a vibrant commercial boulevard, a co-working community, restaurants, and a rooftop with a pool.

The Sous Chef will work closely with the Chef to manage the kitchen, motivate staff, and ensure the creation of delicious and memorable dishes. The role involves developing recipes and menus, monitoring food costs, and maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene.

The role involves:

  • Ensuring resources are available for staff.
  • Participating in food preparation and service.
  • Monitoring portions and waste.
  • Organizing training opportunities.
  • Scheduling staff.
  • Managing performance of kitchen staff.
  • Translating menu changes into recipes.
  • Purchasing supplies and ingredients.
  • Monitoring HACCP guidelines.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of management experience in a similar kitchen.
  • HACCP certification.
  • Excellent knowledge of food products and market standards.
  • Knowledge of modern cooking techniques.
  • Fluency in Italian and preferably English.
  • Legal authorization to work in Italy.
