Job Description
Blackbird Health is seeking an Early Childhood Clinician to provide mental health services to preschool-aged children in Vienna, VA. The Early Childhood Clinician will be responsible for screenings, assessments, treatment planning, and individual and family therapy. The clinician will collaborate with community-based preschool education providers and utilize evidence-based practices such as PCIT and CPP.
Role Involves: - Providing screenings, assessments, treatment planning, and individual and family therapy to preschool-aged children (2-5 years).
- Participating in weekly department and team meetings.
- Completing documentation for services within 24 hours of services.
- Managing your schedule, including scheduling assessments and sessions and rescheduling any cancellations or make-up appointments.
- Reporting weekly productivity.
- Collaboration with community-based preschool education providers, which may include clinical observations and providing guidance based on children’s mental health needs.
- Utilizing appropriate evidence-based practices (PCIT and CPP).
Requirements: - Passion for our mission to redefine behavioral health for children and their families
- Experience providing direct psychotherapy services to children
- Ample knowledge of typical and atypical early childhood development.
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with patients, provider partners, and colleagues
- Utilize and implement evidence-based practices related to early childhood mental health.
- Open to professional and clinical feedback and interested in working in a supporting and collegial clinical environment.
- Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness.
- Display empathy, or the ability to look at the client/family’s situation from their perspective to understand their experience.
- Flexibility to work a minimum of 15 hours per week during our peak “after school hours” defined as after 4pm ET during the week or if you wanted any time on weekends.
- Active licensure in Virginia as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
- At least one year of experience providing mental health services to children under the age of 6.
