Job Description
Blackbird Health is seeking a Patient Support Specialist to be a crucial touchpoint for patients, supporting them through their journey to better mental health. Under the direction of the Patient Support Services Manager, the Patient Support Specialist will engage and activate patients to help them receive the care they need, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience from initial inquiry through discharge. This is a hybrid role based in Exton, Pennsylvania.
Role Involves:
- Fielding inbound calls from prospective and existing patients.
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments.
- Performing clerical and administrative functions.
- Handling new patient paperwork.
- Updating patient information in the EHR system.
- Adhering to confidentiality and data protection standards.
- Providing excellent customer service.
- Attending team meetings and participating in ongoing training.
- Independently problem-solving and organizing time.
Requirements:
- Some college coursework or an Associate’s degree.
- Previous telephonic outreach and customer service experience.
- Passion for helping others and eagerness to work in a mission-driven environment.
- Availability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, with up to 3 days from our Exton PA clinic and the remainder remotely.
- Proficiency with medical EHR systems.
- Tech-savvy with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to connect with and engage individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Genuine empathy, excellent listening skills, and strong time management.
