Job Description
Roadie, a UPS company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to its logistics and delivery platform. This role involves working with the Intel development team to build custom algorithms that address challenges in the crowdsourced delivery space. The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in developing, designing, testing, and maintaining Roadie’s platform APIs and services. They will also collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Data Science teams to improve software engineering practices.
What this role involves:
- Developing, designing, testing, and maintaining Roadie’s platform APIs and services
- Refactoring existing systems and architecting new features and solutions at scale
- Partnering with Engineering leadership to scope and define work
- Applying industry best practices to improve application performance and maintainability
- Mentoring developers in planning, development, and testing
- Collaborating with Engineering, Product, and Data Science teams on architectural design
- Contributing to establishing and improving software engineering best practices
- Participating in on-call rotation, as needed
Requirements:
- 5+ years of software architecture and software development experience
- Strong expertise in Python
- Exposure to microservices design and architecture
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Proven track record of providing stable and secure code in production environments
- Desire for continuous improvement of processes, code, and efficiency
- Strong communication skills
