Data Engineering Manager

Job Description

Stronghold Investment Management is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and management of its data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, expertise in cloud platforms, and experience with AI/ML projects. This role involves crafting enterprise-level data strategies and managing scalable data infrastructure within a dynamic and innovative organization.

Responsibilities:

• Establish enterprise data strategy for ingestion, persistence, and consumption.
• Lead design and development of applications for data extraction and OCR.
• Improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of data infrastructure.
• Collaborate with AI/ML Engineers to integrate data engineering and AI/ML models.
• Manage and scale data infrastructure on cloud platforms.
• Optimize the cost of data stores.
• Facilitate effective communication across teams.
• Integrate new tools and technologies to keep data solutions modern and efficient.
• Implement best practices in data management and engineering.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years in data engineering, including 5+ years in leading data teams.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Titles & Leases, or Financial Services.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Scala with expertise in ETL/ELT processes.
• Expertise in Databricks, Spark, and cloud platforms.
• Strong skills in data modeling and designing Data Lakehouses.
• Experience with modern data stack, data orchestration, and workflow tools.
• Experience processing geospatial datasets and proficiency in geospatial tools.
• Expertise in data governance, data quality, and data security practices.
• Proficiency in relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with message queues like Kafka and stream processing.
• Strong expertise in SQL and experience with cloud data platforms.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on building scalable and reliable data infrastructure.
• Experience in delivering advanced data & analytics products and managing enterprise-level production data platforms.
• Experience with data visualization and BI tools.
