Senior Staff Software Engineer, Front End

Job Description

Altana is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer, Front End, to join its Engineering team. This role involves building platforms, APIs, services, workflows, and customer-facing applications. The Senior Staff Software Engineer will work closely with Data Scientists on projects to analyze world-scale datasets, write scalable code, and construct APIs.Role involves:

• Ingesting product requirements and defining technical requirements.
• Developing implementation plans against technical product roadmaps.
• Maintaining, developing, and deploying customer-facing workflows.
• Analyzing and proposing technical solutions to enhance product offerings.
• Automating, testing, and deploying work.
• Reviewing code and technical designs.
• Mentoring developers.
• Driving technical decision-making and problem-solving.
• Identifying technical and operational gaps and creating plans to address them.
• Serving as a domain expert for a portion of the product surface area.
• Cooperating with team leads and managers to keep the team focused on outcomes.

Requirements:

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of professional experience writing back end or data-driven software.
• Experience deploying production code and services to cloud-hosted environments.
• Experience delivering incremental releases.
• Experience leading other engineers on complex projects.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks and tools (Typescript, Next.js, React Query, Storybook)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
