Back-End Engineer, Fraud

Job Description

Blockchain.com is seeking a Back-End Engineer to join their Fraud team in London. The candidate will be instrumental in enhancing the company's fraud prevention mechanisms, building financial and crypto-native products and APIs.

The Back-End Engineer will work within interdisciplinary teams, advocating for best practices and contributing to technical discussions. They will optimize existing systems for scalability and ensure security is at the forefront of all activities.

Responsibilities include:

• Enhancing Blockchain.com’s fraud prevention
• Building fraud prevention mechanisms in conjunction with the data science team
• Working with internal services and partners
• Advocating for best practices, code quality, and test coverage
• Optimising existing systems for scalability, extensibility, and performance
• Ensuring security is at the forefront
• Working within interdisciplinary teams

Requirements include:

• Proficiency in at least one programming language
• 3-5+ years of experience in building production-ready distributed backend systems
• Experience in JVM-based languages (Java, Kotlin, Scala)
• Customer focus and ability to suggest improvements to the backend
• High levels of test coverage and strong technical documentation
