Truecaller is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of Android, Backend, and QA engineers within the calling team. The Senior Engineering Manager will work closely with the VP of Engineering on company-wide engineering initiatives.

Role Involves:

  • Managing and leading Android, Backend, and QA engineers within the Calling business unit.
  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team.
  • Mentoring and developing team members.
  • Participating in strategic planning and decision-making for the engineering team (including conducting technical design reviews)
  • Driving continuous improvement in processes and technologies.
  • Collaborating closely with the business unit lead and the VP of Engineering on various initiatives.
  • Ensuring high-quality software delivery and adherence to best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams, preferably in mobile app development.
  • Strong technical background in either Android development or with backend systems (JVM based, or similar).
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and ability to drive efficient development workflows.
  • Solid understanding of mobile CI/CD pipelines and release management.
  • Experience in working with QA teams to implement automated and manual testing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions (Product, Design, DevOps).
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.
