Product Engineer I

Job Description

Ultima Genomics is seeking a highly motivated Product Engineer I to support Field Service Engineers (FSEs) and Field Application Scientists (FASs) with technical assistance. The Product Engineer will author and review Best Known Practices (BKPs) for field deployment and coordinate the rollout of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs). Ultima Genomics is experiencing rapid growth and is developing groundbreaking genomics technologies, and this role is critical to ensuring business success. The Product Engineer's responsibilities include:

• Testing and validating process flows and service procedures.
• Delivering presentations to customer-facing groups.
• Monitoring field issues and escalating trends.
• Partnering with design and systems engineering teams.
• Transferring knowledge from R&D to customer sites.
• Collaborating with Operations and R&D on product improvement plans.
• Managing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Requirements for the role include:

• BS or MS in Engineering or a core scientific degree.
• 1+ year of experience troubleshooting complex systems.
• Background in teaching or knowledge transfer.
• Experience working on hardware, software, and chemistry integration.
• Experience in a technical support or customer service role.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
