Senior Backend Engineer

Public is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their 35-person development team in Copenhagen. The candidate will play a crucial role in developing Public's cutting-edge trading platform, enabling users to seamlessly trade stocks and options. • Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems and APIs using Java Spring Boot.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to implement new features and enhancements.
• Optimize performance and scalability of the trading platform to ensure a seamless user experience.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain code quality and reliability.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually improve our technology stack.

Requirements:

• BA or MA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant field; experience in a similar role is most important.
• Strong proficiency in Java Spring Boot and hands-on experience with backend development.
• Experience with Java or .NET is also relevant and can be considered.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced agile environment.
• Experience with the financial markets or trading platforms is a plus, but not required.
• Fluent in English.
