Job Description
KONUX is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on predictive maintenance for railway switches. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading and growing a high-performing team, ensuring delivery to the product roadmap, controlling technical integrity, and fostering innovation.
The role involves leadership and individual contributions to technical designs and codebase. The Engineering Manager will work with a team of experts committed to pushing boundaries and driving innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Own technical design and architecture, collaborating with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to deliver the product roadmap into actionable plans.
- Craft and maintain the domain's technical roadmap.
- Manage technical delivery through all stages of SDLC.
- Contribute directly to technical delivery.
- Build and maintain the annual team budget.
- Control and optimise cloud and domain-specific tooling costs.
- Lead the cross-functional team, fostering growth and development.
- Keep the team informed through regular updates.
- Conduct regular 1:1 meetings.
- Manage performance reviews and pay adjustments.
- Prioritise team health and build a collaborative environment.
Requirements:
- Computer Science or STEM background with 8+ years of software engineering experience (3+ years as a lead).
- Experience with Python, Java, React, Terraform.
- Experience working with Cloud services (e.g. AWS Lambdas, DynamoDB, EventBridge, Databricks)
- Experience building scalable architectures (IoT device and data management are a bonus).
- Exposure to Data Science and Machine Learning.
- Proven track record of leading and motivating high-performing engineering teams.
- Ability to translate technical vision into actionable plans.
- Financial acumen with experience in budget management.
- Experience fostering a positive and healthy team environment.
